The Project Overview
Studio Orange was commissioned by Willing to produce a flagship lifestyle film for 139 Lake, a boutique residential development situated at the intersection of architecture and culture. Our brief was to move beyond traditional real estate marketing and instead create a cinematic narrative that captured the movement of life within Perth’s cultural heart.
The Challenge
How do you sell a residence that hasn’t been fully realized? The challenge was to translate the architectural vision into a tangible feeling. We needed to showcase 139 Lake not just as a structure of glass and stone, but as a gateway to the sophisticated, fluid lifestyle of Northbridge and Hyde Park.
Our Creative Approach: “Framework vs. Feeling”
We structured the film around the concept of “Life in Motion.” Our creative direction focused on the seamless transition between private sanctuary and public vibrancy.
Cinematic Pacing: We utilised a rhythmic editing style that mirrors the heartbeat of the neighborhood slowing down for the morning ritual and picking up tempo as the day shifts into the evening.
Sensory textures and light: To evoke a sense of warmth and belonging, our cinematography used mostly natural light, soft textures, and the tones of Perth’s golden hour.
The Power of Local: We integrated iconic Perth institutions—including Chu Bakery, Arrival Hall, and Wines of While to ground the project in reality. By featuring the Art Gallery of WA and the WA Museum Boola Bardip, we positioned 139 Lake as the centerpiece of a creative community.
The Execution
Working alongside stylist Elizabeth Clarke and talent Sabrina Spalding, every frame was meticulously curated to reflect modern city living. From the tactile details of the spaces to the wide, sweeping shots of Hyde Park, the film serves as a visual archive of a lifestyle.
The Result
The final film is more than a promotional tool; it is a branded piece of storytelling that has elevated the market positioning of 139 Lake. It has provided Willing with a high-impact digital asset for social media, website, and showroom use, to help with generating leads by selling a vision of a life well-lived.
The Final deliverables of the content shoot turned into a long form film as well as 6 short reels to help continue the conversation across other platforms.
