Celebrating 3 Decades of Care
Description
The Project Overview
Studio Orange was commissioned by Carers WA to produce a flagship anniversary film celebrating 30 years of supporting, recognising and advocating for family carers across Western Australia. Our brief was to move beyond a traditional, dry historical recap and instead create a visual narrative that honored three decades of community impact while reflecting Carers WA’s forward-looking vision.
The Challenge
How do you compress 30 years of complex advocacy, policy shifts, and deep human dedication into a single, engaging film without losing your audience? The challenge was balancing hard organisational milestones with genuine emotional weight. We needed to present abstract data and historical statistics in a way that felt visual, fluid, and deeply human.
The Creative Approach
We structured the film around a hybrid narrative framework that paired strategic, custom animation with heart-led storytelling to bridge the gap between structure and emotion.
Custom 2D Animation: Abstract milestones and historical metrics are difficult to translate on camera. We designed custom motion graphics to visually map out key achievements, turning complex timeline data into a fluid, visually captivating narrative.
Human-Centred Stories: To ensure the data never felt cold, we anchored every animated moment in authentic messaging around the lived experience of carers. This gave the timeline a heartbeat, keeping the focus firmly on community impact.
Commemorative Brand: We integrated Carers WA’s updated 30-year commemorative branding and color palette directly into the visual rhythm of the video, creating seamless brand recall and authority throughout.
The Execution
Combining sleek animation design with evocative narrative pacing, every frame was meticulously crafted to reflect the scale of Carers WA’s work. From the fluid graphic transitions detailing organizational growth to the warm, respectful tone of the voiceover, the film serves as a visual archive of three decades of unwavering care.
The Result
The final film is more than a retrospective; it is a powerful piece of brand storytelling that elevates Carers WA’s market positioning within the sector. It has provided the organization with a high-impact digital asset for social media campaigns, website integration, and event presentations, helping drive awareness and engagement for their broader anniversary celebrations.
The final deliverables of the content shoot turned into a flagship long-form film as well as a suite of short reels and testimonial cuts to help continue the conversation across digital platforms throughout their anniversary year.
